Visit to Castle Cary

Following a reasonable response to my proposal for a visit to this charming and interesting town, I have now arranged a group excursion for Thursday 14th June. The schedule is:-

10.00 am: Visit to the Museum,

11.00 am: Guided walk around the town,

11.30 to 2.00 pm: Free time and lunch,

2.30 pm Tour of a horsehair weaving factory.

Parking is free at Castle Cary and there are quite a few pubs, cafes and restaurants, but booking is advised. There are also interesting shops.

The guided tour is free, but donations to the Museum fund would be appreciated and the cost of the factory tour is £6.00, which I collect from you individually on the day. The factory premises are not suitable for anyone with mobility problems as there are steep stairs to climb.

More information about Castle Cary is available on the the internet at:-

I originally had 13 indications of a willingness to visit and hopefully there will be more. Twenty five is the maximum. If I get less than ten volunteers I will cancel. Let me know if you wish to go at
